There are signal sequences before the real coding sequence at the translation initiation sites. Amino acid activation is catalyzed by amino acyl-tRNA synthetase and couples it to its corresponding tRNA. Anti codon in tRNA molecule forms base pairs with the appropriate codon on the mRNA. In the initiation step, initiation factors are involved. Initiation factor is the protein that promotes the proper association of ribosomes with messenger RNA. In the elongation step, incorporation of an amino acid into a protein takes place. As a result, polypeptide chain is grown. Termination is the last stage in protein biosynthesis.

Protein synthesis requires two steps, called transcription and translation.

The process of polymerization of amino acids to form a polypeptide is called as Translation. It is the second and final step of protein synthesis. The order into which the amino acids are arranged is defined by the bases in mRNA (messenger). Ribosome is the cellular factory responsible for the protein synthesis. The ribosome consists of structural RNAs and about 80 different . It is in inactive stage and exists as two subunits, one large and other small. The synthesis of begins when the small subunit encounters an mRNA. The ribosome also acts as a catalyst for the formation of bonds.

The process involves ribonucleic acid (RNA), deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), and a set of enzymes.

This is a semi-essential amino acid, because although it is normally synthesized in sufficient amounts by the body, supplementation is sometimes required (for example, due to inborn errors of urea synthesis, protein malnutrition, excessive lysine intake, burns, peritoneal dialysis, and rapid growth).

A single ATP molecule slides into the activating enzyme, in a place particularly designed for it.

An amino acid then settles at a place specifically reserved for it.

Both, the amino acid as well as the ATP molecules start moving closer to each other till they bind together.

What are the two stages of Protein Synthesis

The newly transcribed mRNA is released by the polymerase enzyme, which then migrates to the cytoplasm to complete the process of protein synthesis.

It is the second part in the process of synthesis of proteins.

The smaller part of the ribosomes attracts a messenger RNA.

The first 3 nucleotides of a messenger RNA are matched with the first adapter.

Now, the bigger part of the ribosomes is joined to the smaller part.

The second adapter slides into a position to the left of the initial adapter.

Posterior connectors of the two amino acids are present towards the end of the adapter links.

The initial adapter gets released as the RNA messenger moves to the right.

Stages Involved in Synthesis of RNA

Information flow in the cell: DNA is transcribed to mRNA which is translated (decoded as) into Protein. Protein biosynthesis takes place in the ribosomes. tRNA brings specific amino acid to ribosome and mRNA provides the sequence information for protein. Protein biosynthesis has three processes: Initiation involved with initiation factors, elongation involved with growing of peptide chain and termination. Hydrolytic editing also takes place if a wrong amino acid is added.
