The Effect of Light Intensity on Plant Growth | Hunker

A) sunlight concentration B) temperature C) chlorophyll concentration D) carbon dioxide availability Effects of the variables and there concentrations: The amount of sunlight will decide the rate of photosynthesis as there will be a an increased rate of photosynthesis due to the increased availability of photons of light....

Count bubbles of oxygen gas given off by elodea to determine the rate of photosynthesis.4.

Prediction: I predict that as the light source (desk lamp) is moved closer to the pondweed (Elodea), the rate of photosynthesis will increase therefore more oxygen will be produced creating more bubbles.

How does the level of light affect the rate of photosynthesis ..

Aim: We will be trying to see if light intensity has an effect on the rate of photosynthsis.

We have also learnt that photosynthesis is a vital process that occurs in order to create glucose and oxygen, by transforming carbon dioxide and water in the presence of light energy.

To test this we used about 5 grams of leaves for each trial, and placed them in a gas chamber. On two sides of the gas chamber we placed two clear containers filled with water to serve as the temperature regulators. Behind the water containers we placed lights directed at the plant. We ran three trails for each different leaf we used. Each trail consisted of measuring the amount of CO2, with a CO2 gas sensor under blue light, red light, and green light. We made sure to switch the order of colors in each trail as an experimental control, to minimize error. Since we know that photosynthesis requires CO2, and we know that blue light pigments absorb the most light energy, we predicted that under blue light the most CO2 would be used.

Low light intensity lowers the rate of photosynthesis

The chemical equation of photosynthesis is:

[IMAGE]6CO2 + 6H20 C6 H12 O6 + 6O2

it has been proven many times that plants need light to be able to
photosynthesize , so you can say that without light the plant would
neither photosynthesize or survive.

Light intensity and the rate of photosynthesis ..

Change the conditions of photosynthesis by altering light intensity and
carbon dioxide amount, and determine the effects on the photosynthesis rate.

Oxygen production is used to measure the rate of photosynthesis

Is because
the wants to show that the rates of photosynthesis will
vary according to how much light from a light bulb will be trapped in
the chloroplasts, in the leaf.
